First show of Josh Ritter's 'Winter Warm Up Tour 2013'.
The set included six live debuts, all from Josh’s upcoming album, The Beast In Its Tracks, which'll be released on March 5, 2013.
The printed setlist also included 'In The Dark', 'Change of Time' and a three song encore of 'Bone of Song', 'Snow is Gone' and 'To The Dogs or Whoever'. None were played due to time constraints.
I was the only taper in attendance.
DPA UA0896 windscreens were used on the microphones.
Josh Ritter - vocals, acoustic guitar
Zach Hickman - upright bass, acoustic guitar, vocals
Austin Nevins - acoustic guitar, vocals
Subject: Great recording of a huge night for Josh
Here's my full review of this show for the Hamilton newspaper- http://www.jackmcman.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/spcRitter21413.pdf. Josh was as charming as ever as he presented these new songs for the first time, and the audience (who were mostly new to Josh) were really supportive and happy to have him. This whole show is a must-listen for Ritter hardcores, if just to hear the new songs presented live and acoustic. So much joy.
